Changes result in National Assembly Q&A session improvements

(VOVWORLD) - Reforms have raised the quality and effectiveness of the Q&A session, according to lawmakers attending the year-end National Assembly gathering. The questions and answers have been frank, straightforward, and focused on voters’ concerns.

A deputy registers for questioning at the Q&A session from October 30 to November 1, 2018.

During the 3-day Q&A session, which ended on Thursday, legislators grilled cabinet members and heads of the Supreme Court and Procuracy about pressing socio-economic issues. The session also involved the Prime Minister and his Deputies. Hundreds of questions were asked and the answers were clear and satisfactory.

“The Q&A session is like an examination that tests cabinet members’ abilities and responsibilities. Cabinet members did a good job. This form of Q&A should be maintained,” said Deputy Nguyen Thanh Hong of Binh Duong province.

Deputies praised the performance of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan during the Q&A session. Pham Viet Luong, who represents Binh Phuoc province, told VOV: “The Chairwoman was quick and sensible. She was able to keep a balance between the askers and the respondents.”

The Q&A session also included debates between deputies to clarify the issues in question. Deputy Nguyen Ngoc Phuong of Quang Binh province said:

“Cabinet members have tried to honor their commitments. They have laid out multiple solutions from agriculture to the environment. It’s encouraging”.
