Ministries act to achieve growth target

Vietnam’s economy prospers in 2017’s first half
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by an estimated 5.73% in the first half of this year. The first-quarter growth was 5.15 percent while the second quarter’s was 6.17. These results were credited to the government’s energetic efforts to improve the business climate.

Big contracts signed at Paris Air Show
(VOVWORLD) -Scores of passenger planes and military aircraft were on display at this year’s Paris Air Show. The event took place at Le Bourget airport on the outskirts of Paris from June 19 to 25. Although the number of visitors was reduced from previous years, contracts signed at the Show increased 13%.

US revives parts of travel ban
(VOVWORLD) - The US Supreme Court’s ruling on reviving parts of a travel ban on people from 6 Muslim-majority countries will come into force as of Thursday. This is the first time the US Supreme Court has made a ruling on President Trump’s travel ban. The entire ban will be reviewed in October.
