Meta hopes Vietnam will be the dragon of AI

(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Planning and Investment, the National Innovation Centre and US tech giant Meta Group have announced the Vietnam Innovation Challenge (VIC) 2024, aiming to seek innovative solutions from domestic and international organizations and individuals to develop Vietnam’s semiconductor industry. Themed “Innovation to Accelerate the Semiconductor Industry and AI to Go Global”, the event aims to honor solutions that improve the quality of the semiconductor value chain’s design, packaging and testing phases, with priority given to AI applications, and those applying AI technology to support business building and development and improve productivity. VOV talked to Rafael Frankel, the Meta Group’s Director of Public Policy for South and Southeast Asia, about Meta’s support for Vietnam.

Khan Academy’s chatbot tutor arrives in Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has been the third largest user globally, outside the US, of Khan Academy’s free online learning platform, Khanmigo, for school-directed learners in 2023, according to the Silicon Valley-based and non-profit educational organization. How can Vietnam have 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030?

(VOVWORLD) - What should Vietnam do to have high-quality human resources to serve the semiconductor industry which the Vietnamese Government has high expectations for? A project “Developing human resources in the semiconductor industry until 2030, with a vision to 2045″ is being urgently researched and will soon be submitted to the Government for approval. By 2030 Vietnam intends to train 50,000 engineers to serve the industry at all stages of the value chain.

NIC hopes for more support for domestic innovation startup community in 2024

(VOVWORLD) - 2023 saw new milestones in Vietnamese innovation, which moved Vietnam up 2 places to 46 of 132 countries and territories in the World Intellectual Property Organization’s 2023 Global Innovation Index. Vietnam’s National Innovation Center (NIC) played a key role in the achievements. What will NIC do in 2024 to sustain last year’s achievements?
