Children learn about Vietnamese silk weaving

(VOVWORLD) - The silk weaving cooperative in Nam Cao village, Thai Binh province, gives children hands-on experience with silk weaving.

Ms. Luong Thanh Hanh, Head of the Nam Cao cooperative, demonstrates the different steps of silk weaving.

Each step is performed at the Nam Cao cooperative: growing the mulberries, raising the silkworms, and weaving the silk.

Ms. Hanh says her great passion for silk motivates her to help the revival of Nam Cao’s silk weaving craft.

The children appear fascinated by this 100-year-old loom.

Nam Cao exports its silk products to many countries under the brandname Hanhsilk.

The children are eager to feed the silkworms

They get some hands-on experience making silk bracelets.

Embroidering silk scarf is an interesting experience.

The boys show as much interest in embroidery as the girls do.

Nam Cao silk scarves vividly embroidered by children make unique gifts.
