Badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh finishes second at Vietnam Open 2025

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam's No. 1 badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh (ranked 18th in the world) failed to defend her championship title, losing 0-2 to China’s Cai Yan Yan (ranked 107th in the world) in the much-anticipated final match in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.

Linh is ranked 18th in the world, and Cai 107th.

The Yonex-Sunrise Vietnam Open 2025 International Badminton Tournament’s final matches were in five events – men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

This year’s Vietnam Open, part of the Badminton World Federation system, had a total prize value of 110,000 USD and attracted 300 players from 20 countries and territories.
