NA Standing Committee opens 49th session to review draft laws

(VOVWORLD) - The National Assembly Standing Committee opened its 49th session on Friday in Hanoi to prepare for the year-end and also final sitting of the current legislature and carry out new tasks to complete its agenda.

The session will focus on reviewing 14 draft laws covering the economy, human rights, defense, security, science, and innovation.

For the first time, the Standing Committee will decide the 2026 legislative program rather than submitting it to the full Assembly. This is intended to make legislative efforts more responsive to current developments.

The upcoming National Assembly session will debate 70 items, including draft laws and resolutions.
