PM highlights social sciences as pillar of national development

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that in the era of national rise, the Party has identified the development of science and technology as the “leading key breakthrough”; socio-economic development and environmental protection as the “central tasks”; and the development of culture and people as the “foundation.”

He made the remarks during a visit to Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in Hanoi on Tuesday.

PM Chinh said that social sciences and humanities play a crucial role in strengthening the ideological foundation, shaping value systems, fostering cultural and intellectual development, promoting national unity, and enhancing international cooperation.

Social scientists constitute a vital force, contributing the ‘soul’ to national development by harnessing cultural identity, reinforcing internal strength, and enhancing the country’s soft power, he added.
