(VOVWORLD) - The development of the nuclear triad, which guarantees Russia’s security and helps to ensure the global balance of forces, remains an "unconditional priority", President Vladimir Putin said in a video address on Sunday on the occasion of the Defender of the Fatherland Day.
He insisted that the development will guarantee Russia's security and ensure effective strategic deterrence and a balance of forces in the world.
The nuclear triad is comprised of road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM), submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM), and strategic bombers with nuclear bombs and missiles.
