The Vietnamese team won the world championship’s quadrant event for the third time after previous final match wins in 2022 and 2023 over Thailand and Indonesia.
At this year’s Sepak Takraw World Championship, held annually in Thailand, Vietnam clinched 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Sepak takraw is a popular sport in Southeast Asia that's similar to volleyball but is played with a woven rattan ball and use of the hands is not allowed.
