Yemen’s Houthi raid UN facility in Sanaa amid claims of Israeli-linked espionage

(VOVWORLD) - Houthi gunmen on Saturday raided a UN compound in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, and detained a number of employees.

The Houthi militias seized the phones, computers, and other electronic devices of the UN staff members and conducted individual interrogations.

The incident was part of a broader campaign targeting UN personnel in areas under Houthi control. Over the past two days, the group has intensified raids on UN offices across Sanaa.

In a speech on Thursday, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi claimed that his group possessed “conclusive evidence” of the involvement of a team of employees of the World Food Program in espionage activities to assist Israel in the assassination of several senior Houthi officials in Sanaa.
