First COVID-19 omicron variant patient in Vietnam doesn’t have symptoms

(VOVWORLD) - On Tuesday Vietnam confirmed its first case of the omicron variant of the coronavirus. The carrier is a Vietnamese student who landed at Noi Bai International Airport from the UK. VOV talked to Colonel, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Huu Song, Director of the Vietnamese German Center for Medical Research of the Central Military Hospital 108, to learn more about the current health condition of the patient and what people in Vietnam should do following the first detection in Hanoi.

Meals spread love to northern mountainous students

(VOVWORLD) - Hundreds of children in disadvantaged areas in the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan now have meals of meat, vegetables, and rice thanks to local teachers, benefactors, and a charity group named “Feeding children in Bac Kan”. The meals have dispelled the coldness of the mountain region, spread love, and fueled spirits in remote hamlets.

Mekong Delta’s medical center excels in fighting HIV/AIDS

Rice farming combined with aquaculture creates profits for Mekong Delta farmers

(VOVWORLD) - Annual flooding carries fish, shrimp, and alluvial soil into the rice fields of the Mekong Delta’s Dong Thap province. This year water levels have risen later than in previous years, severely diminishing the livelihoods of local farmers. But a number of locals have taken the initiative to respond to climate change and restructure their agricultural model. They have combined rice cultivation and aquaculture to raise their income.
