A bear's life - How an endangered species found the promise land

(VOVWORLD) - Some say animals can feel all the emotions that humans do. They experience joy, sadness, love, and get sick just as humans do. So if you mistreat them, can they forgive, and heal, and find hope again, as humans do? According to Four Paws, an animal welfare organization that rescues dozens of species, including endangered Asiatic black bears, they can. But as with humans, it often takes them a lifetime. In VOV’s Sunday Show this week, let’s explore how humans and animals can take the first step of a lifetime journey of healing. --- Some tracks and photos in this episode are copyrighted by Four Paws Vietnam and used with permission from them. Thank you, Four Paws Vietnam and Bear Sanctuary in Ninh Binh, for letting VOV use the materials. ---

Schubert in a Mug: Intimate classical music concerts for all

(VOVWORLD) - For centuries, classical music, characterized by its complexity, depth, and emotional range, has been performed in majestic theaters often adorned with exquisite chandeliers, plush velvet seats, and elegant details. The association between classical music and grand theaters is deeply rooted in the historical development of both art forms. Theaters such as the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan, and the Royal Albert Hall in London, or the Hanoi Opera House have become iconic settings for performances of symphonies, operas, and other classical works. In Vietnam, the appreciation of classical music has taken a unique twist – far from the conventional setting, individuals indulge in the timeless melodies while leisurely sipping a cup of tea. This experience artfully unfolds within a special project called “Schubert in a Mug” which began three years ago.
