Illiteracy eradication brings new life to fishermen in Thua Thien-Hue
(VOVWORLD) - After President Ho Chi Minh declared to the world the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945, the young Vietnamese government faced numerous difficulties, including famine, illiteracy, and foreign aggression. A campaign to fight illiteracy was considered the second most urgent task of the revolutionary government. Illiteracy eradication for fishermen in the lagoon of Thua Thien-Hue province has become the mission of the local administration and every local citizen there.
